Short fittings for butt-welding

Akatherm short spigot fittings

Short fittings for butt-weldingAkatherm short spigot fittings are used to connect pipe sections with a diameter range from 20 mm to 1200 mm.

The short spigot fittings are available in wall thicknes SDR11, SDR17 and SDR33. The range consists of the following products:
- Stub flanges
- Tees 90°
- Bends 90°
- Reducers concentric and eccentric
- End caps
- Adaptors with male and female thread
- Unions (find more information below)

These short spigot fittings can be jointed to the pipe segment by the butt-welding method. Butt-welding is a very economical and reliable technique for making permanent (non-detachable) joints.

Short spigot fittings are extremely suitable for butt-welded prefabricated pipe sections and special fittings.

Unions

UnionsUnion thread couplings are used to make simple detachable screw joints. By using union ends of another material, union thread couplings are also very suitable for realising the connection from PE to other pipe work material.

The application of these short spigot fittings and unions is:
- in general the conveyance of fluids in industrial process pipe systems
- the transport of gasses and solids (large diameters)
