Akafusion jointing technology

HDPE can be jointed using heat fusion by means of butt-welding and electrofusion.

Butt-welding produces leak-free joints as strong as the pipe itself and is very suitable for prefabrication and producing special fittings.

Electrofusion joints the pipe and fittings together using embedded electric heating elements. Electrofusion couplers are specialized fittings for these purposes and meet the needs of most demanding on-site applications.

Akatherm has a complete range of butt-welding equipment and electrofusion equipment available as well electrofusion couplers. All Akatherm fittings are suited for butt-welding and most fittings can also be electrofused.
