The Aliaxis group of companies has come together to provide a service that allows you to manage your water in a sustainable way. This complete thinking successfully combines proven systems and innovative products to create sustainable water solutions: robust, cost-effective solutions that respond to environmental changes, stay ahead of changing legislation and create greater overall efficiencies.

Reducing risks through a different approach

With climate change comes an increase in flooding, or conversely occurrences of drought.

This, in turn, places extreme pressure on storm water drainage systems as well as potable water supplies. Not only does this demand a different approach to control the water - it presents the opportunity for recycling initiatives and a more sustainable way to manage water: a Sustainable Water Solution.

As we know, the areas of permeable land where rainwater can soak away are diminishing as a result of an increasingly built-up environment, and public structures are overloaded. Therefore it is essential we manage water responsibly. Spending on flood defences has increased, but other methods need to be implemented.

Rainfall

By mid-century, annual average river run-off and water availability are projected to increase by 10-40% at high latitudes and in some wet tropical areas, and decrease by 10-30% over some dry regions at mid-latitudes and in the dry tropics, some of which are presently water stressed areas. Millions of people are projected to be flooded every year due to sea level rise by the 2080s. Sustainable development can reduce vulnerability to climate change by increasing resilience.
